Arm placement deserves a specific warning on this lift because the combo arms make it easy to set up asymmetric and then load the vehicle as if it were symmetric. For a buyer who wants door clearance on a budget and has a low ceiling, the HW-10KBP is the only one of the four that fits; for a buyer with the ceiling and the money, the BendPak is the better lift and the HW-9KOH is the better value.

Buy the HW-10KBP if the ceiling is between 11 ft and 11 ft 6 in and a 2-post is the goal, if a garage door track or opener sits where an overhead beam would go, or if door clearance for interior work matters and $4,000 for a BendPak is not in the budget. It is also the sensible pick for a mixed fleet where the combo arms will actually get switched between modes.

Skip it if the ceiling is 11 ft 6 in or taller, because the HW-9KOH keeps the floor clear for $100 more and the extra 1,000 lb of capacity on this lift will rarely be used by a home mechanic. Skip it if a transmission jack or a rolling toolbox will cross the bay every day. Skip it for commercial work that needs ALI certification.
